Since 1998, the community of Lupiac has boasted a museum dedicated to d’Artagnan and located in the historic chapel of Saint Jacques, the very same chapel that d’Artagnan’s uncle, Bertrand de Batz, had had built next to the hostel for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostello.

The visitor can become acquainted with the famous musketeer and his epoch through a permanent exposition and film. Audio guide headphones accompany the visitor, offering commentary in two languages (French or English) along with music and sound effects that evoke the epoch of the most famous Gascon.

One can also discover the hero of legend through film posters and a collection of illustrated books on The Three Musketeers by Alexander Dumas.

A village like Lupiac, with only 300 inhabitants, has small resources which limit the ability to improve the museum with new acquisitions.

Therefore, the community of Lupiac would be happy to receive donations of any objects, engravings, drawings or documents relating to the life of d’Artagnan or even that of the hero of legend.

Fir those who wish, the names of donors will be inscribed in the museum’s golden book as well as on this site.
